Building things that
hold their load.
I'm Kinu Abera, a civil engineering student focused on structural design and construction management. I like problems where the math has to survive contact with concrete.
About
I'm currently in my third year at Addis Ababa University, studying civil engineering with a focus on structural analysis and reinforced concrete design. Outside of coursework, I've worked on a few site-survey and design projects that took ideas from sketch to spec sheet.
I'm drawn to the parts of the field where design meets the real constraints of site, budget, and material — and I want to keep building toward a career in structural or geotechnical design.

Skills
Projects
3-Story RC Frame Building
Designed and analyzed a reinforced concrete frame structure in ETABS, including load takedown, beam-column detailing, and a full slab design.
Campus Topographic Survey
Led a 4-person team through a total-station survey of a campus plot, producing contour maps and a cut-fill estimate for a proposed access road.
Concrete Mix Design Study
Tested compressive strength across five concrete mix ratios, comparing curing methods and documenting results against ES/EN standards.
Culvert Hydraulic Design
Sized a box culvert for a rural road crossing using rainfall-runoff modeling, coordinating drainage capacity with the road design team.
